Education System in Europe

The European education system consists of 5 levels.

Preschool
Primary level (Grades 1 to 4 or 5)
Secondary level I (Grades 5 to 9 or 10)
Secondary level II (Grades 10 to 13)
Tertiary level (comprises higher education schools and universities)

National standard exit exams are stipulated from secondary level 1 onwards to graduate to the next level.
